Who won't wake from this silent night?

Durham in December is bustling, and a gruesome murder isn’t on anyone’s Christmas list. So when retired teacher Joseph Morley is found dead, sheet music rammed down his throat and a carol playing on repeat in the background, the police want answers fast. DI Tom Stonem and partner DS Lauren Rea had hoped for a quiet Christmas – but Morley’s corpse is not the only festive surprise.

It seems to be the season for slaying, with each death somehow linked to the school where Morley was once choirmaster. As Christmas Eve approaches, Tom must decipher the killer’s chilling motives before the opening notes of the annual carol service. Will he unearth the true meaning of the macabre music – or become the next victim in a deadly performance?
