I'm delighted to announce that the winner of the Bookshop Survey has been contacted and a £25 shop voucher is waiting to be collected! Thanks again to everyone who took part. I'll be bringing you some news about our findings over the next few weeks.

Thursday September 10th was a big day in publishing with lots of new books being released hoping to hit the bestseller lists in the lead up to Christmas.

With that in mind a few of our new releases have yet to arrive. I'm working closely with the publishers involved to work out when our copies are expected and will update as soon as I have any information. If you have a new release on pre-order I'll be in touch.

One new release which has arrived is GRUFFALO GRANNY, the brand new picture book from Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. To celebrate we'll be having a very special story-time on Saturday 12th September at 11am. Your little ones can listen to the story and then take part in some craft activities and a treasure trail around the shop. This event is free to attend and there is no need to book.

Hopefully see you there!

You may have seen my smiling face all over social media this week as I was the guest speaker at Alex and His Sisters, a business networking group which takes place in Altrincham each month. It was a fun and relaxed event where I waxed lyrical about everything from the joys of reading to the dangers of AI. You can find out more about Alex and Altrincham HQ on social media @altrinchamhq

Our popular quiz took place on Wednesday with five teams battling to be crowned B For Butterfly Books Quiz Champs!

You can find all our upcoming events on our facebook events page and website.

Just a heads up that the shop will be closed on Tuesday 22nd September as Jon and I will be attending the annual Booksellers Association Conference where we meet up with lots of booksellers, authors and publishers. Expect lots of exciting book news when we get back!

Our kid's book club will be relaunching on Thursday 24th September at 4pm in the shop. This is a relaxed environment for readers of all abilities aged 7-11.

Our suggested read this month is THE MINISTRY OF MANNERS by David Solomans but come along and chat about whatever you're reading at the moment. Please note that parents must remain in the shop during this event. There's no need to book, simply come along on the day.

If you'd like to be added to any of our book club mailing lists (Monthly, Afternoon, Slow Readers Club, Kids) then please get in touch.

And that's it for this week.
