Books Forever Appeal 2023 in collaboration with Wood Street Mission

I’m delighted to announce that B For Butterfly Books is supporting the Books Forever Appeal in 2023!
The Books Forever project helps to transform the lives of children affected by poverty throughout Manchester and Salford through a love of reading.
Organised by Wood Street Mission, the Books Forever project distributed over 20,000 new books to children in local schools in 2022 and this year, with your help, we can smash this target!
It’s no secret that we live in troubling times. The Greater Manchester Poverty Action group estimate that 1 in 4 children in the city region live in poverty and with spiralling food and energy costs this number is likely to grow.
When families are struggling it’s more important than ever to provide children with a means of escape from the real world, and what better way to do that in the pages of their very own book?
Maybe they’ll fight dragons or pilot spaceships, cross oceans or play football with a giraffe…but only with your help.
There are a number of ways you can help:
- Visit the website bforbutterflybooks.com and purchase a book with a note saying ‘Books Forever Donation’ in the ‘Special Instructions for Seller’ box;
- Make a financial donation at https://bforbutterflybooks.com/products/donate-a-book-wood-street-mission-books-forever-appeal-2023 which will be converted into new books;
- Drop off brand new books for children aged 0-16 at B For Butterfly Books based in Emporium M33 in Sale, Greater Manchester;
- Share this blog and information about the appeal on social media using the hashtag #BooksForeverAppeal.
All donations, however large or small, are gratefully received but please ensure that they reach B For Butterfly Books by Friday 19th May so we can deliver them to Wood Street Mission by the appeal deadline.
